Mariah - BFOI Y3 App

 Mariah is back and ready to experience the beauty of Ohana once more! I spent way too long on this dang thing... but I'm super psyched!

Quick Bio: Mariah is a sweet and optimistic girl who is looking for adventure, friends, and a normal (well, non-extravagant) life. She gets along with most everyone, but she doesn't appreciate those who are arrogant or rude to others. Her family's great wealth didn't affect her desire to treat everyone equally, but she does retain her love of custom clothing and gourmet food. 

Loves: Blueberries, training herself and her pokemon, freedom, traveling, battling, reading, swimming, watching people, catching new pokemon, custom designed clothes
Dislikes: Rude and arrogant people, mangoes, thunder storms, being trapped, cold temperatures, people judging her for how she was raised
Weaknesses: Lacks some common sense, can be reckless, gets down on herself when she loses

Full Bio: Rasied by her father and grandparents in Saffron City, Mariah grew up very sheltered. Her father owns a large company, and was regrettably away from his precious daughter much of the time. His success allowed Mariah to be tutored privately at home by some of the world's greatest professors. She is well educated, but still lacks some general common sense which most people acquire through mistakes and life experiences. Her mother left without a trace when she was very young. Her father and grandparents protectively controlled who she hung out with, and where she went. Though she loved them, Mariah always wanted some real friends who weren't already family or on her father's payroll. Only her grandmother knew how badly she wanted to leave home, and entrusted Blue to her as a guardian on her 12th birthday as a precaution. Mariah left home at age 22 to train Pokemon. Her travels over the past 6 years have helped her overcome some of her fears and experience more of the world outside of high society. She, Blue and Sir Jake were injured after the events of Y2, so they headed back home to recover. Her father tried to urge her to stay closer to home, but to no avail. Mariah's love of traveling soon had her journeying around again. She caught several new Pokemon, and decided that she wanted to train her own body alongside them. After hearing about the Battle Institute, she quickly arranged the trip and set out with new and old Pokemon beside her. Her anxious father immediately retreated to his study with a bottle of expensive brandy to calm his nerves.



Blue: 5'5"
Blue is one of Mariah's oldest Pokemon, and a fierce battler. He usually comes off as a bit aggressive at first, but is really only watching out for Mariah. He was rescued by her grandmother from some inattentive neighbor's abusive toddlers when he was an electrike. Blue would follow Mariah anywhere, and has greatly enjoyed watching her grow up.

Guava: 6'5"
Guava is easygoing and comes across as almost motherly. When they first laid eyes on each other, Mariah was attracted to the fruit on Guava's neck, and Guava was attracted to Mariah's colorful clothes. It was a match made in heaven. As far as battling goes, Guava is a little reluctant due to her passive nature. She's learning to enjoy it through Mariah's coaching.

Kappitan: (Ca-pee-tan) 5'
An oddlball of the group, Kappitan is a real charmer. He loves tipping his 'hat' to all the female Pokemon, and often has trouble battling them. Mariah is unsure where he learned this chivalrous attitude, but she tries to respect his ethics. It has taken some getting used to due to his previously lazy and chill attitude when she caught him as a lombre.

Peppermint: 1'
An old friend and study mate of Mariah's brought her a mystery egg when she was recovering from the events of Y2. Mariah was completely shocked when Peppermint emerged with her glorious green fur. The shiny little ball of fur looked up at Mariah and gave some enthusiastic snorts. Mariah's heart melted and she immediately put one of her favorite clips on her. Training has been tough, but Mariah's hopeful that Peppermint will get the hang of it.

Sir Jake: 3'2"
Sir Jake enjoyed the challenges of Y2 immensely, and is looking forward to once again battling in the land where the Aurorus left him permanently scarred. Though he appears somewhat ominous, he has a soft spot for Mariah. He enjoys battling the most, and is always looking for an opportunity to further hone his skills.

Samson: 5'1"
Mariah's father nearly forbid her to return to Ohana right before Samson volunteered to go with her. Being one of her father's personal guard, Samson was fully trained to protect. His job used to be making sure Mariah didn't sneak out of the yard when she was little. Now, Mariah seeks every opportunity to break his hardened expression and get him to loosen up. Samson has always adored Mariah since she was a child, and can't help but smile at her attempts sometimes.


Extra Tidbits:
- Blue and Samson do not get on well, and will often battle each other for supremacy
- Mariah is practically a fish in water, and enjoys free diving even more than battling
- Kappitan enjoys Mariah's fashion sense, and tries to push her to order clothes inspired by water Pokemon
- Sir Jake lost the use of his left eye when his first monocle shattered during the end of Y2. He insisted on a replacement, and wears his scars with pride
- Peppermint actually doesn't like the taste of peppermint 
- Guava loves to listen to Mariah read, and often wraps her leaf wings around her
- Blue is quite happy that Gloria didn't accompany them to Ohana this time
- Mariah orders clothes from a well-known tailor to obtain her unique Pokemon inspired designs
- Samson secretly enjoys being out of the mansion, and traveling around with Mariah
- Kappitan loves female Pokemon, but is oddly intimidated by Guava
- Mariah loves to laugh and has decided that making others laugh is often a good way to make friends
- Mariah is actually loosely based on my childhood friend and current bestie who grew up sheltered in a wealthy family
- Mariah also LOVES desserts, so she trains regularly alongside her pokemon to burn off the calories XD
